Learn To Stop Spyware Before It Hurts Your PC

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

My friend is an outdoorsman, at least that’s what he dreams of, on a day to day basis he tunes up home computers and does an exceptional job and has a fine reputation. If I have a personal computer quandary, he’s the emergency number I reach for and no matter how challenging or convoluted the problem, give him some leeway and he’ll find a way out. He mentioned something disconcerting the other night, it seems that 80% of the home computers he services have spyware or adware on their systems, and many his clients are unaware of it; e-mailing him when their systems grind to a halt.

The Internet is similar to a living, breathing creature continually developing, and sometimes not in a constructive path, though it definitely has given me opportunities. As the calendar turns and expertise moves forward, so also does malware, spyware and adware. It is critical in this day and age to have Spyware Removal tools on your system and to schedule scans on a regualr basis; imperative is running software updates, because what worked yesterday may overlook a new type ofvirus or adwarecoded since the previous scan.

As a test for this article (but not using this system) I performed a test, removing my anti spyware, anti adware software then visiting several auto surf sites. These sites are perfect for new webmasters, providing them the method to send people to particular websites, accomplished by their at other sites. The operation is performed this way:

A person visits a particular site and receives credits for looking at the site The credits are assigned to a site you want to promote. Then When someone else surfs, your website is offered for review. The system is designed so everyone gets a look at someone elses site.

In theory this is a beautiful plan, but some (not all) of these sites are either part of a larger entity or frequented by marketers who are less than honest. Their intent is not to simply display their offer or website, but to install spyware on your computer. And with today’s technology some of this malware is intelligient enough to start the download of spyware/adware onto your computer, simply by looking at their innocent looking marketing offer. I’m not criticizing these sites or suggesting that all are bad, I am recommending vigilance and suggesting you be certain your computer is protected.

If you’re reading this, statistics say you may already have or will certainly fall victim to spyware or adware. If you’re thinking, I don’t visit those kinds of sites and I definetely don’t install illegal software, then pat yourself on the back, but you are still at risk. Take the safeguard and guard yourself your system. Remember the old warning…

’an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure’

In this day and age it not only makes good sense, its mandatory to protect yourself. Many of your files, either from your job or personal reasons; just imagine getting up to discover all your details gone. Appalling, completely… Could it happen?… It’s happened to others. Preventable? Yes by installing the best adware removal tools.

Okay are you listening now, perhaps you’re wondering what exactly will spyware and adware do to my computer. Outstanding, happy to know you’re taking heed. Mostly spyware and adware are not are not created to ruin your system, instead they are like a fly on the wall. Collecting datathen reporting back to a website; the spyware sometimes will initiate pop-ups and they most certainly can smother your PC, slow your processor and lessen your connection to the net. It’s not so much the damage done, but the fact that your life, your privacy, your system has been breached and these people (whomever they are) have no right to be there.

I’m very grateful there are smart programmers that feel precisely the way I feel; this means these programmers want to do something about it. I don’t know how to write code, My skill is writing, and I offer this article to offer advance warning and propose you take precautions and guard your PC. I thank those defenders of safe browsing with the hard work and heart to code and make available these fine spyware/adware removal programs.

When you decide on one of the spyware/malware programs to install, I’d suggest regular scans of your PC. When the automatic features of the program are used, you’ll find it does most of the grunt work automatically, and in all probability while you’re asleep.

User Ratings and Reviews

4 Stars A great way to play your tunes easily.
The Bose SoundDock has the Bose quality sound you would expect. It is a great way to play your IPOD, just plug it into the dock and play. You do not have any control over bass and treble, just volume. The remote has a good feel to it and responds well. There is a small green light in the dock that lights up each time you press a remote button. You will usually use the remote to change the volume, select the next or previous track and turn it on/off. The SoundDock itself only has 2 buttons for volume up and down.

The volume goes louder than I expected and I never have turned it up all the way, even when the kids are playing their IPODs.

There are a few things they could have improved……The power cord has the transformer built into the middle of the cord, it should have been built into the unit. The power cord plugs straight into the back of the SoundDock with a small round plug and it will come out easily if the unit is moved. The docking station is a seperate piece that is attached and it moves around a little which makes it feel loose. There isn’t an on/off switch on the unit, just the remote, so you have to turn the IPOD off or use the remote to turn them both off, or just pull the IPOD out. My SoundDock was missing one of the stick on rubber feet on the bottom. I called Bose support and they mailed me one free.

Overall it’s a great quality unit where it counts but Bose cut corners where they could on the rest of it.

We do love it and use it almost everyday.

5 Stars Like the versatility…
I have always enjoyed the Bose sound so was glad to know that I could listen to the ipod on my iphone by docking with this unit. Also important was to be able to listen to my Creative Zen via an audio jack. This meets both criterias and gives the ulimate of sound. William Tell Overture never sounded better.

5 Stars Hear Bose sound before you bash it
I did quite a bit of research before getting the Bose SoundDock II. I wanted a dock that would work with my iPod touch 2G, have superb sound quality, and preferably charge my iPod while docked. Well I have to say that I got all i wanted and then some with this unit.

I read some reviews online written by “audiophiles” and supposed “sound experts” bashing Bose for selling overpriced and underpowered equipment. These people just don’t get it. I won’t go on to bore you in detail about the ridiculous things that were said but I will mention that these people are comparing the SoundDock to a home stereo setup that entails having a receiver with two separate wired speakers. Is this a fair comparison? I beg to differ.

To summarize this product it’s a compact unit you can have in virtually any room in the house minus a bathroom (for safety purposes) and its sound can be described as warm and beautiful with deep enough bass to make your sound come alive but not wake the neighbors. Clear, never distorted at any volume. You get what you pay for.

Thanks Bose!

5 Stars It’s BOSE, what else can I say (smile)
I have a Bose 3-2-1 and love their products and quality. I’ve been wanting a SoundDock for my iPod for over 2 years and so for Christmas this year I finally found it for a great price here on Amazon and went for it the new SoundDock Series II.

It’s so easy to use and the remote works so good and from far off to. It has great sound and it works with the new 4th and 5th generation iPods so no worries there.

I love that it’s small and fits on my dressor and yet sounds like I have a huge sound system.

what else can you say, it’s BOSE, do I need to say more? =)

I will say one other thing (smile), BOSE, when is the great Bose going to get with the times and have a 3-2-1 Blue-ray?

4 Stars Great sound, nice looking and easy to operate.
My husband bought this for me as a gift for my office. It is stylish and sleek enough for a professional setting, does not take up much room and is easy to operate. I agree with other reviewers that the Ipod holder itself is not a tight and secure fit. I have the Bose Waveless CD/Radio and love it as well. I had a 100.00 IHome prior to this and it is like a bubblegum machine docking station compared to the Bose! You get what you pay for in this instance. A great sounding electronic at all sound levels.

4 Stars love it!!
i am 30+ and i love this little bug! the only draw back i see (or hear) is in higher volume heavy bass songs. it has 5 lit up volume indicators each has a range of 5 sound increases before the next. it is perfect for a small room but not for a large one. it does get surprisingly loud and remains quite clear unless im listenin to biggie or uncle al or nas but my simon an garfunkel beatles and al green del phonics are all beautiful out of this small machine I listen to a lot of different kinds of music and i recommend you put your ipods’ EQ to the OFF position for normal use and with some old school rap or new school hip hop or even buju banton put the EQ on bass reducer and you will get alot of enjoyment outta this little bug for years to come…

4 Stars great look, not too great of a system
people say that the volume is amazing, its not that good, when my friends come over it doesn’t blast enough (im not just saying that because im 17) also it does not work with my ipod that good, i have the nano 4th generation. they said that it should work with it, i don’t know if my ipod is flipping on me because of the speaker or not, the remote is also extremely annoying, you have to hold it a certain way to change the song or whatever, I’m mainly sticking with it because its too cute!

5 Stars Excellent sound from one-of-a-kind device
I had no idea if this device would work with my 3G iPhone, but given the price, and cool design, I decided to give it a try. Upon opening the box, I found a card from Vestalife that says the Ladybug “uses the latest circuitry to make it compatible with your iPhone.” The card also says that Vestalife recommends that one place the iPhone in Airplane Mode to prevent audio interference.

When I docked my iPhone, I got a pop-up message on the phone that informed me that the device (the Ladybug) is not compatible with the phone; the message allowed me to place the phone in Airplane Mode.

The sound the ladybug puts out is terrific! I couldn’t want for a better sound from such a device. It’s cute, it’s cool, it’s small, and it’s portable. Other than the non-compatibility with my iPhone (which I really don’t care about) I have no hang-ups about this device. I highly recommend it.

I bought the Ladybug at Costco for $86.99. I got the blue Element Skateboards special edition model; this model sells on Vestalife’s web site for $125.

5 Stars Great Ipod Dock
For the price, this is a great little speaker system for your Ipod. I have the Ipod touch, and use this docking station in my baby’s nursery to play him music at night, and fun music during the day. It puts out some serious sound for being so little. We will enjoy this for years! I like that we can take it with us, as it is very portable, and doesn’t take up much space on the bookshelf. It’s a cute little system, and very unique in style! We have the red and black one, and it does resemble a ladybug. Very cute!

1 Star Crushed Box
I ordered this item for my mother for Christmas and once it came to me, the box was completely smashed. I guess that the item is okay, but based on the box, I’m not really sure if it will be. It came in bubble wrap, but wow!…the box was really smashed all to pieces. I was really disappointed. I would be embarrassed to give my mother this gift in such shape, but it fits perfectly in the box that it should originally come in. Very disappointed. Have emailed the company, but never heard back.

5 Stars silicone iPod Touch case
I wanted an inexpensive protective cover for my itouch and found it in this product. It fits perfectly, all the slots line up and I’m happy with the purchase.

1 Star sucks >:(
to bad it only goes to one i would give this a -5, the case i got was a for a 2nd gen ipod

5 Stars Excellent product
Very lightweight, excellent product. My son says it’s just the perfect case for his iPod Touch. Couldn’t be more pleased with this product.

2 Stars Good for the price.
Looking for a little protection for my 2g iPod Touch I saw this Silicone Case at a very low price on Amazon. It is easy to put on and take off. It keeps the scratches from developing. It can even be used as a belt case. This last point is one thing that I would do without because sliding a belt through the openings on the back of this case could scratch the iPod. Equally important is that these slits in the Silicone case are **always** open. Dumb.

The case is flexible enough that the volume and power buttons are usable. I cut off the small tab (using a utility blade) that was intended for dangling the Touch in this case from a small chord or chain. The thought of doing that seemed dumb because of the danger of dropping the Touch. This tab was also positioned on the left side partly covering the volume rocker switch. Dumb again!

Just be a protective Silicone case and this would be three or four stars for the price. Get rid of the slits and tabs!

1 Star This case is CRAP
I know when you read these things your thinking to yourself, ‘oh, he just got a bad one, mine will be good’…blech- no!

the first review is obviously a fake posted by the company. ‘exceed expectations’? yeah, because its crap. Its not broken, its just that it is a shaped balloon. thats it- its a SQUARE BALLOON in the shape of a case. this thing doesn’t protect at all! its not worth it to pay for this crappy case. dont forget, theres shipping and handling too. just go to tjmaxx, or splurge a bit on this site and buy a $7.00 case- i KNOW! 7 WHOLE DOLLARS!

no, but seriously- crap. by a pack of balloons. at least you get more for your buck.

User Ratings and Reviews

1 Star Poorly made, doesn’t function long
I received this product for Christmas. I know it was purchased on Amazon.com. Just so everyone is aware, this is a model that i-home no longer makes, there is a newer model that is manufactured now. Though I like the docking features and the sound quality is good, some of the LCD digits on the clock display stopped working last week. Now I can’t tell what time it is! That’s very important to me, since this sits by my bedside, and is used as a clock first and foremost. Also, the remote only works if you aim it only at one very specific spot on the front of the unit, not just in the general direction like a TV or other device.

All in all, poorly made, and not worth the money.

1 Star bconn
I ordered this product. Misrepresentation in description. beware. ih8 will not work with IPOD classic. I had to return item.

5 Stars clock radio for idpod
Perfect to wake up to my own music and charge my ipod at the same time!

4 Stars great product
This was my first purchase from amazon.com. I will be buying from them again. Even at the last minute before Christmas, I received fast, secure service. The sound quality of iHome is excellent. My son is enjoying it very much!

5 Stars iHOMEI8HBR
We were pleased with this product. It works well and our kids liked the remote.
