iphone will dominate mobile markets

There is no doubt that 2008 was the year of the smartphone. By smartphone I mean the iphone, The Blackberry and the latest touchscreen installments from various other mobile phone companies. It also saw the emergence of the electronic ecosystems needed to get the most out of such handsets. However with the boom of the smartphone there has also been many accompanying problems such as persistent problems with wi-fi internet connection. Apple had reported that over 100 million applications had been downloaded for its own App Store between July and September 2008 alone.

The rise of smartphones is a very obvious indication that older mobile phone technologies are really starting to come of age. The success of 3g hand held mobile phone devices has sky rocketed and has literally forced all mobile phone companies to create a relative handset to match the demand for these new devices. The iphone has been the key in changing the way mobile phones work and it is still arguably the most popular smartphone brand. It has still clinched its enormous asking price yet people are more than willing to pay for that kind of quality. And personally I would not hesitate on it as you know that you are getting exactly what you pay for. And with the iphone you know you are getting quality.

However despite the good news for the mobile world, 2009 is unlikely to see that success continue. For a start analysts have siggested that they will see sales of handsets starting to diminish at the beginning of the year due to the global economic crisis which has affected the mobile world. One important avenue for mobile phone companies is to explore will be to exploit the amount that is payed for downloadable content. That is one of the only ways in which companies will continue to make much more money.
