4 Stars Almost Perfect
Overall this is a very good product. I was very impressed with it, especially considering how affordable it is. This transmitter looks more expensive than its price would suggest. The digital controls makes tuning very easy. If it wasn’t for a noticeable distortion when listening to certain female vocals I would have given it 5 stars. But overall I am still very pleased with this transmitter. Below are my pros and cons.
Positive:
1. Well made and looks good
2. Charges 4th generation iPOD Nano - a big plus
3. Digital tuning allow easy selection of FM channel
Negative:
1. The signal is weak. It’s easy for stray signals to interfere with this transmitter
2. Transmitted volume is softer than radio stations even with iPOD volume near maximum
3. Noticeable distortion when listening to female vocals
5 Stars Great Little item
Just got this and it was so simple to use. I was concerned because there were no instructions with it. Didn’t need them! Just plug it in, find an unused station and play music.
4 Stars Best charger & transmitter I’ve used so far
This product is great, you just have to make sure its 100% secure and pushed into your iPod, otherwise you will get a buzzing sound.
My only complaint is that i wish it could be powered by the iPod, because it needs to be plugged in at all times, and the cord on it is fairly short, about a foot or less, so handing people the iPod in the backseat is out of the question.
My other transmitter broke, and was very flimsy, This one is VERY solid and is very functional…. and has more channels than I’ve ever seen on a transmitter, I think it goes down to 87.1 or (77.1) I forget, (not going out to my car to check, its 10 degrees out).
I highly recommend this product if you want a cheap sturdy transmitter, if you want a mobile transmitter powered by your iPod, not the car… look elsewhere…
4 out of 5 stars from me.
3 Stars Works well, but has high pitched noise and short cord
I just received this product yesterday and used it for one day. It transmits well but there is a high pitched noise in the background, possible interference. Music sounds great, but if it’s a quiet song you have to listen to this ‘tone’ or sorts. Also, the cord is pretty short, just seems long enough to reach my iphone holder.
5 Stars Works for me!
I got this transmitter a couple weeks ago and really like it! I previously used the iTrip (about $75 or $80). I had static almost all the time and often had to reset stations even in my own hometown. With this transmitter, I plugged it in, found a station, and have had clear audio ever since. I mostly use it to listen to books, so I don’t know about the problem with bass as one writer noted. I have recommended it to several friends. In my opinion, you can’t beat it, even with the more expensive transmitters!
