5 Stars great little product
The photos of the product online don’t tell the story. They’re tiny, but really cool. Yes, I agree that the amount of separation between speakers is limited to a fairly short leash, so to speak, but these are not room speakers after all. I have used them with Skype, and with my iPhone. I think they’re terrific, and I love their portability. Very innovation design.

4 Stars Little speakers, big sound
These speakers are surprisingly loud for their compact size. Their are ideal as easy access computer/mp3 player speakers. And for 50 bucks its kinda hard to go wrong. The only slightly disappointing thing about these speakers is they generate some feedback if you are using them while charging at the same time, not a big deal though because I end up just not charging them while using them to get the best quality. Good buy

1 Star very poor sound
I hate to go against the majority here (ok, no I don’t) but I just purchased two sets of these speakers and they sounded awful. Really small and tinny. My laptop (powerbook aluminium) internal speakers sounded better! Also the cord that hooks everything together is a bit of a jumbled mess. I’d avoid these. Mine went back already…

5 Stars Great little speakers
I got these for Christmas and have only charged them once because I thought I needed to, but I’m thinking now that it wasn’t necessary. But they were charge about a week after I got them. I’ve been using these speakers at work for the past month and the batterires haven’t been charged since that first time, and I use them off and on for 8 hours while I’m working. Maybe the batteries are lasting so long because I use them with my phone.

They came fully charged in the package and overall are great little speakers that fit in the palm of my hand in their capsule form. Great sound for the size. Definately worth it.

Do not buy from this buyer. They took our money and never shipped the item. Email the buyer 3 times and no response. Took the money as soon as the order was summited and never shipped the item. If Amazon does not refund the money I will never purchase anything from Amazon again.

I like to listen to sports radio which is on am. Plus the local sports are on am.

2 Stars Not quite enough
Doesn’t quite fill a room very well. At low volume it sounds fairly decent, but when it’s cranked up a little the sound is very tinny and is hard to listen to. There is no adjustment for bass and treble frequency levels so you’re stuck with what is offered.

5 Stars Great Sound and Features
I was very pleasantly surprised at the sound of these speakers. They have great, clear sound and good bass response when the ESS is activated. I’ve only ever used it in normal house-sized rooms so I don’t know how well it would fill in a large room or sound outside. I can say that setting it up in the dining room it sounded great in the adjacent living room. It folds up very compactly and the remote control is quite handy. It can control some of the iPod functions, such as changing songs. If you are looking for something to put on your desk or listen to in the bedroom, I don’t think you can do any better, especially when you add in the portability and battery-powered operation. One note: if you have the latest fourth generation iPod Nano you need to make sure you have the newer im600 with the ESS technology. They previously made the im600 with SFX technology. The SFX will play the new Nano but it will not charge it. The newer ESS models are fully functional with the latest iPods. Trust me, I learned the hard way.

5 Stars Amazing Product! Amazing Sound!
Before purchasing this product, I borrowed a friend’s bose ipod speakers (Can’t remember the model, but the popular ones). The sound was only slightly better than these (Definitely not worth the price difference). The features of this product (FM Radio, easier navigation without remote, etc.) definitely out way the slight difference in sound production. The only bad thing I can say about this product is it is marketed as portable, but they made it out of a very easy to scratch and print plastic. (Very smooth and glossy). It is always covered with fingerprints. Not worth giving it a lower rating, but sometimes I wonder what designers of products are thinking…

I have owned many portable small speakers and this one (Altec Lansing IM-237) beats all of them hands down. My husband and I were astounded by the clarity and sound quality from this little guy.

It is quite small and can fit in the palm of your hand. Diameter would be 3 to 3.5 inches and the height would be about 2 inches.

The only thing I would have liked in this device is probably a volume control (it lacks one and hence you will have to control the volume from the mp3 player).

5 Stars The little speaker kicks butt!
I took this little speaker with me to Puerto Rico and it was perfect. Despite it’s small size, the volume is great… good enough to hear clearly when you’re relaxing on the beach, even with all the noise from the ocean and other beach-goers. The bass is surprisingly adequate. And the interesting thing about it is that the sound doesn’t carry so far so it does not disturb other people. Maybe it’s because the sound is going straight up in the air and so is not projected like from a stereo. I don’t know. Anyway, another impressive thing about this speaker is the battery life on just 3 AAA batteries. I didn’t have to replace them for days even with multiple-hour use each day.

5 Stars Sony Bluetooth Transmitter For iPod Touch 2G
We have several Apple portable audio devices, the latest being a new 32GB iPod Touch 2G. We also have a couple of Motorola D650 bluetooth transmitters made specifically for iPods, but they do not work the Touch 2G, Apple has changed the connector on the 2G, and it is no longer compatible with the older USB power adaptor cables, or some of the legacy iPod adaptor devices.

We tested the Sony bluetooth transmitter with our new Touch 2G, and it works flawlessly.

With all three of our different bluetooth headsets, Motorola brand, you can pause/play, and forward/reverse the playlist selections.

Curiously, we tested the Sony with two of our iPod Nano devices, one of them the new Chromatic version, and this bluetooth transmitter seems to draw less power from the iPod battery than the Motorola D650 bluetooth transmitter.

On average, the Sony is giving 1.5 to 2 hours more battery life to the iPod Nano player.

The form factor is also smaller for the Sony, versus the Motorola D650 adaptor.

Device works as advertised. It also turns of if it is not being used to save battery. The audio quality is also on par with using wired head phones.

The only reason I give it a 4 star is because I wish it had its own power source. It currently uses my iphone’s power and while the drain is not that bad it still has an noticable impact on the battery life.

4 Stars Can You Say Freedom!
This little transmitter when combined with the Motorola MOTOROKR S9 Bluetooth Active Headphones is a Godsend if you like to workout, do chores, or any other activity. This transmitter can be placed in the middle of a room and you have 30′ of great reception in all directions. I have used this transmitter in my home gym, outside while doing yard work and (bending the rules a bit) while driving in my noisy Mazda Miata. I rated this a four out of five because your hand can block the signal to the headphones, and that happened often enough to be mildly annoying. But overall I am impressed and so were my parents when they put on the headphones and i walked away from them with the iPod and transmitter. This is a must buy.
