The capabilities of the latest iPod video carry on the developing process of the old capabilities – software, hardware and compatibility by means of other devices. About the software, it is fine-identified that the iPod on the whole and the iPod video during special play MP3, audible audio book, WAV, M4A/AAC, protected AAC, AIFF and Apple Lossless audio file formats. Ever since the 5th generation iPods there is another opportunity of playing m4v and mp4 MPEG-4 video file formats. Only non copy-protected WMA files may be copied to an iPod. Other formats are not likely to be played by the iPod and this is the circumstances of FLAC and Ogg Vorbis formats.

Besides, the iPods are specially designed for matching the iTunes media library software. This online song store appeared throughout 2003 and it sells songs and it was thought exclusively for the iPod users and not in favor of other portable music players. This might enjoy contributed to the achievement both the iPods and the iTunes music shop and to the great development and improvements of the iPod’s capabilities.

The software of the latest iPod video has modern features – modified recommendations and video happy that could be played on a Pc or else transferred to the iPod. The software was upgraded to Version 6, fact that represents a development and a distinct accomplishment. Relating to the hardware of the iPods one may say that the initial generation iPods were recharged simply all the way through FireWire with the assist of a small power adapter. The 4th generation iPods may enjoy been charged more than USB. The 5th generation iPod might be charged by means of the make easier of a dock connector allowing the FireWire cable to be plugged throughout for the recharge.

Compatibility of the iPods with Windows is the point of Apple, realized during 2002, reality that contributed to the creation of a Windows version of iTunes throughout 2003. The iPods might be made to be compatible by means of a Macintosh and there is as well an iPodLinux project. Any supplementary features can be mentioned but speaking approximately the iPods in general and iPod video during extraordinary. The iPods might display text files, reality which is very useful. There are too PDA calendars, any games that were attractive several years ago whereas they appear outdated nowadays. The games available on roughly every iPod except the iPod shuffle are brick, parachute, solitaire, song quiz. The most interesting game is the music quiz, playing some fragments of several songs and waiting the user to identify the song starting a list. The disadvantage of this game is that it uses a huge amount of battery power.

All these capabilities appear enhanced throughout the situation of the new iPod video except the creation of other games or the beginning of latest ones. This might be seen ever since a disadvantage, while only if captivating into account the fact that it is a situation of a portable song player this aspect does not enjoy such a big value.

The innovation is of course the video ability, even though the main features of the latest iPod stress on big improvements throughout the image and noise quality. The video image is surprisingly smooth and in this direction can replace the skeptical attitudes by means of joyful exclamations.

Even though it is not the primary struggle of bringing video on a portable handheld device, this achievement seems to be the most successful. This accomplishment is due to a large amount of required work and complicated changes throughout the software and hardware since fine. During a path or another, Apple seems to be the champion in creating special portable devices and maybe any other steps will be taken in the development of the small video portable devices. Throughout this direction, maybe a special compatibility by means of more than devices may be developed, ensuring other periods of enormous accomplishment. Other online stores can appear and expand throughout the tradition of the iTunes music shop. Due to iPods from the Apple Corporation legal satisfied of the downloaded and paid song or TV shows, episodes or else other materials is ensured.

1 Star Good player, poor software
I got this one since my 60gb 5th gen video one got stolen. I figured this would be better since it’s newer, but it’s actually quite a bit worse.

The screen is much darker so you can’t see it without the backlight, and there isn’t an option to turn off the backlight either. The “screen saver” sucks, it tells me the time which I could care less about seeing as how I have a watch and a phone, so I have to take it off of hold and click in order to view the song.

Since itunes is intent on scanning for gapless playback every single time I plug in my ipod, I use winamp for managing it. This works for the most part, but for some reason certain songs will not work unless I put them on the ipod through itunes. This is really inconvenient and never happened with my 5th gen one. Whenever I have to do this, itunes starts scanning my songs again and before I can cancel it it screws up the id3 tags so afterward I always have to go back into winamp and fix them.

The clickwheel is not as sensitive as it used to be, so scrolling it through the iskin is sometimes choppy or non-responsive. Again, the 5th gen one had no problem whatsoever.

The 120gb classic is still getting firmware updates, but the 80gb is done, for no apparent reason, even though it still has bugs. Apple dropped support way too early.

I really think they took a step back with this version, I guess the battery life is a little better, but the other faults overshadow it completely.

3 Stars Ipod classic
I have the 80gb version of this one, within the first 100ish days the first one died on me, I took it to my local apple store where they reset it, which I did many times to get this thing going again, sent me home and said well if it happens again come back and see us, well the day after that it froze so hard you couldnt event reset it, I plugged it in so they could see exactly what I was talking about when I got back, So the rep says wow sir what did you do to this thing? He said it looks brand new, well duhh The day i got this I put it in a very nice case. He hands it too me to take the case off, so I did, he holds the base and wiggles the top part and goes HAVE YOU TAKEN THIS APART?????? I said umm NO IDIOT. so he finds some of their “techies” and they say no thats never been apart so he turns to me and says Ok well we will replace this for you. Long story I know, Anyway so I sign all this stupid paperwork so I can get home to reload my ipod, I get home and look over the stack of paperwork he gave me and hidden in a bunch of mumbo jumbo crap I see the warranty on the “new one” I have one month left im like OMFG, So I read on alittle more and find out its a Referb’d unit. I felt ripped off, I do enjoy my ipod daily but I dont think I will every buy another one again just from their customer service/support.

Apple iPod touch 8 GB 1st Generation

(not the iPhone) With the Apple iPod touch, Apple has married the iPhone’s revolutionary multi-touch interface to their popular digital media player. So instead of a Click Wheel, you just use your fingers to flick through your music, photos, and video. Two fingers can be used in a pinching or spreading motion as well, which zooms in and out of photos and web pages. That’s right, the iPod touch is the first iPod to offer web access. It does this via built-in Wi-Fi support. There’s even a special iTunes Wi-Fi Store, so you can browse and purchase new music and video while you’re on the road. The latest iPod touch now offers a suite of new applications, including email, maps, and handy widgets for weather, notes, and stocks. The new iPod touch also features a customizable home screen that lets you rearrange buttons and create your own Web Clips. 5 Stars Apple iPod “Touch” - 32 Gig.: 1st Gen.
Very Impressed! My stepson (14 y.o.) downloaded ‘hundreds’ of songs on this iPod unit and ‘liked it a lot’ (’til it was stolen from him by an estranged friend). * * * Note * * * This is a hot item! I should have bought another one for myself - Big 80’s Fan!

2 Stars Return policy=Not Good
I received my Apple ipod touch in December, and within the first week I noticed that it started to freeze up, when i was playing music, playing a game or searching the web. Recently I have gotten so frustrated with my ipod freezing that I sent it back to Apple. Apple emailed me back and said they could find nothing wrong and sent my ipod back. So make sure that if you buy the apple ipod touch that you are prepared to go to war with the company to get a new one.

5 Stars My nephew loves it!
My 22 year old nephew wanted this so badly. He is such a good kid that I decided to buy it for him! He loves it so much, and is never without it.

4 Stars Pretty satisfied with it!
I was really impressed with the condition of the product. Since it was used I wasn’t sure what I was going to get but it looked pretty new when I received it. The only upset was that I had to wait three weeks or even longer before it showed up in the mailbox. But overall, I feel like it was worth the wait.

5 Stars Great Product… Awesome Price!
I ordered this over the 2nd Gen, I am very pleased with the product, I saved some cash, downloaded the update from Itunes, does the same things the 2nd Gen Touch can do except doesn’t have an external speaker.
