iPod Technology

Every once in a while, someone comes up with a technology that changes our lifestyle. The latest one to come along was a small digital music player called iPod!

In 2001, Apple developed the iPod, and since then it has been the standard for the digital audio player. If you don’t have an iPod, you aren’t “with it”, and if you have an iPod, you’ve got to have the latest generation. There has even been a boom of third party manufacturers of iPod accessories that are too numerous to mention them all.

There are several free sites on the internet where you can download music to them and if you can’t find them, just ask your Grandkids. iPod does all these things in a format that is very user friendly thanks to Apple, and I think that is the main reason the iPod is so popular. In fact, people have a tendency to call all mp3 payers iPods, whether they in fact are or not.

You are also able to use it as a hard disk drive. You also have from 5 GB to 30 GB on your hard drive; this makes it usable as an external storage for your laptop when you are in the field.

Watching movies and TV shows you will have entertainment up to six-and-a half hours. Pod can has space for 20,000 songs, 25,000 photos, and 100 hours of video — or any combination these. So, you could say that with your iPod in hand you could enjoy the world as a theater.

A lot of people just can’t be without their iPods, they’re stuck to the ears from jogging time ’till bedtime. There are even rumors about a solar-powered bikini that can charge the iPod batteries on the run.

The rules have been changed regarding the way that people purchase and enjoy music. Today the amount of time spent by consumers in front of some kind of screen or device is more than ever, yet more and more, consumers can limit the number of commercials they see or hear.

This might not be comforting news for the broadcast TV and radio stations, but the cable TV stations and the Satellite radio stations have nothing to fear. As for the consumer, the choices for listening and viewing have never been better.

Can you just imagine, any place you are, and any time you want, you can have any type or kind of entertainment at your command as long as you can receive a cell phone signal. Oh, did I tell you? You can also surf the web with the new generation iPods.

Memory Cards For Your Camera

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Digital Camera Memory Cards

In the digital age, cameras are revolutionzing the world of pro and home photography. However, as traditional camera are connected with film, digital camera are connected to camera memory cards. Using memory cards in the best way can have an impact on your enjoyment of digital photography.

Capactiy of flash camera memory cards is measured in either GB (gigabytes) or MB (megabytes) and is the amount of digital data that it can store. The higher the figure indicated on the card, the higher the capacity it has for storing digital date storage. Larger memory files or larger capacity camera memory cards of 512 megabytes or 1 gigabyte are recommended if you’re planning on working with RAW images on a regular basis.

RAW files can be anywhere from 10 to 20 MB’s in size, while high quality JPEG images are 1 to 4 megabytes. Shooting JPEGS at a high quality setting is a good idea for both sharing great photos or having a quality image to work with when editiing at a later time.

Diversifying your data with using multiple camera memory cards is highly recommended so that you don’t risk loss of your images if your card were to be lost or corrupted.

A recommended size of memory card to have for safely storing images to use in your digital camera is 512 megabyte of memory. For most cameras, don’t consider a card smaller than 512 MB, which can hold from up to 100 to 200 JPEG images, depending on the image content and your individual digital camera settings.

The higher the resolution of the digital camera, the lower your available space is as far as the amount of images the card can hold. You can determine the size of the camera memory card that you need by determining how many images you want it to be able to store or to save before transferring, and what resolution you will be using for your cameras photos.

Regular commercial digital cameras use SD memory cards and can also use Micro SD cards with an SD adapter as well, in doing so this Micro sized card can be used for mulitiple applications.

Professional digital cameras commonly referred to as SLR’s or DSLR’S use either SD cards or compact flash digital camera memory cards. These high end cameras produce amazing photos at an impressive pace, many photographers use a compact flash memory card with fast read and write speeds along with large storage space for high mega pixel resolution. So if a photographer is taking photos at a rapic pace, high performance flash cards will be ready to process and store high resolution images with no delay.

How Often Do You Find Yourself Saying: I Wish I Knew How To Get Perfect Hairstyle

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

I really don’t know how hairdressers do it; people always coming in and asking for new hairstyles, or a ‘popular hairstyle,’ I would have no clue as to where to start if I were them.

He has a lot of hairstyle magazines in the waiting area, so many times he grabs one of them and starts to show me samples of what he thinks I might like.

The reason I feel sorry for him is that he has a tough job to do. We were chatting one day when he was trying to make a short hairstyle out of my currently layered hairstyle when he confessed that he did so much better when a person brought in pictures of hairstyles to show him what they want.

He told me that one day a man came in and asked for a dangerous-looking hairstyle

One thing I like about my hairdresser is that he is always going to conventions to keep up-to-date on the latest trendy hairstyles (both men’s hairstyles and womens hairstyles). However, he had no idea what a dangerous hairstyle might look like. And, because he had no idea, he just gave the guy a popular men’s hairstyle. He wasn’t sure if the guy was satisfied or not; and he definitely knew he wasn’t satisfied with the cut he gave him, not knowing if that’s what he wanted - or not.

I know that men’s hairstyles cost around $20 (womens hairstyles tend to be a LOT more), and if you’re going to pay that kind of money for something, you should get what you want - especially if you tell the hairdresser what you want!

And that’s the missing link. When you ask the hairdresser for something different, but you don’t have pictures of hairstyles you like, you’ll end up with the same old thing. In this case, both parties lost. The hairdresser was not happy because he didn’t think he gave the customer the mens hairstyle that he wanted; the customer was not happy because he had been all excited about his new dangerous look, only to end up with the same haircut he always got.

So what’s the solution? If possible, always bring your hairdresser a picture of what you want, or something close to what you want. I have taken pictures of people on the television and brought them into his shop. He once said I could even bring in a video tape of a person with my vision of a short trendy hairstyle, if that’s want I wanted.

All he needs is some kind of clue as to what you might be looking for in a new hairstyle. Long? Short? Medium length? Oh, and he really has a different idea of how short a short haircut should be - I’ll never make that mistake again!

You may not know this, but there is new technology availabl that lets you try on virtual hairstyles and see what you will look like before you go in for your new trendy hairstyle. I do this all the time, and it has saved me time (growing back hair), and money when I get what I want the first time.

Wine Storage Solutions: Ideal Conditions And Peak Flavors

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Has anyone ever called you an oenophile? If someone did, did you know what they meant? An oenophile is someone who loves wine. Wine has been a revered beverage used in religious ceremonies since ancient times. It may have come into being accidentally. Since yeast is everywhere in the world, at some point some of it was bound to end up in some grape juice or other sweet liquid causing fermentation, and wine was born!

Ancient people found that instead of ruining the grape juice, the yeast changed it into an entirely different drink, and one with a kick, because fermentation also changes any sugar present into alcohol. Ancient peoples also decided that this, too, was not such a bad thing, and began to deliberately make juices, mostly grape juices, into wines.

Back in those days a vintner had little choice as far as wine storage solutions. He could keep wine in crocks and ewers. He had no way to control the temperature the wine was exposed to or the humidity. Wine that was kept for long periods of time might well have turned to vinegar by the time it was opened. Later it was discovered that the conditions in caves and cellars were good for the keeping of wines, and wine cellars were born.

Modern wine lovers have learned that wine needs different conditions depending on whether it is developing or being stored. These days, wine lovers also know that wine storage solutions have to meet a variety of different situations. Open wine racks can provide the proper type of wine storage for modest wines in a home, as long as the home is kept at a reasonable temperature and humidity.

Wine storage coolers work to protect wine and keep it at its best possible quality. If you are a serious wine lover you may want to purchase one in order to maintain more precise conditions for your wine. The sizes of wine storage coolers vary and can be as large as a room sized refrigerator chamber, or small enough to hold only one bottle. Choosing the best wine storage solutions for your household will depend on what is being stored, the budget, and preferred taste.

It is difficult to get wine to stay at it’s peak and even more difficult to get it to reach it’s peak. Temperature range for wine is not very broad, it needs to be no lower than 40 degrees and no higher than 65 degrees Fahrenheit. Little variation is allowed and no more than five degrees. The less temperature variation occurs the better and it should happen less than one time per year. Humidity should be kept at more than fifty percent and the cooler should be out of the sun and light free, which is something that can harm wines.

One important factor to consider in a wine storage unit is the angle the bottles will be housed at. Preferably, the bottles should be stored on horizontally on their sides, but can be stored at up to a 45 degree angle. Wine racks are the best storage method, but coolers are also sometimes used to stack bottles. A storage rack should be able to accommodate both standard wine bottles and unique sizes and shapes. A final consideration is appearance, if the storage unit will be on display.

An oenophile is an appreciator of wines, and they have existed since wine was invented in ancient times. Wine storage solutions weren’t a big problem when there were so few options, but today many solutions are available. Wine should be stored between 40 to 65 degrees Fahrenheit, at least 50% humidity, direct sunlight should be avoided and bottles should be as horizontal as possible. Wine racks are a good idea for modest wines, but serious oenophiles might want to consider wine storage coolers instead. These are available in many different sizes and for many different budgets.
