2 Stars Difficult set up with SR-506 receiver
I purchased the Ipod dock for my new SR-506 receiver, assuming the setup would be simple and sync well because both are Onyko products. Not so! The directions (non-user friendly, confusing, and requiring the manuals for both products) say to connect the dock with the RI (interactive-capable) compatible inputs for cable/sat and change the name on the receiver to “dock”. However, I’m using the receiver with satellite TV and need that input display. Evidently, there are no other RI compatible inputs for the dock on the receiver, so I’m reduced to using inputs (AUX or TAPE) that require a separate (not included) video cable that must be connected directly to the TV (inconvenient because wall-mounted in my case). The dock is handsome, sounds good, and makes a good charging station, but is certainly is not the plug-and-play accessory for my Onyko system I imagined when I purchased it.

This is the 2nd onkyo dock I bought and it had to be returned. This is just not a reliable product!

Disappointed in this product. Rather touchy and does not work all the time. Probably not my best purchase.
5 Stars Good but expensive product
The iPod dock is quite expensive for what it does - let you take out a stereo audio signal from your iPod. The Video out is quite useless - the menus are a shame to look at on the TV, after the gorgeous ones on the screen of the iPod itself. But… the black dock works like a charm, so easy to set up, has a useful remote, charges my iPod, looks neat next to my home theatre setup, and is less expensive than the white Apple dock. For Onkyo home theatre owners, an R1 signal permits you to control everything with a single remote - but I use my Harmony 880 which does the job well enough with my Sony Home Theatre.
After scouring Amazon and other sites for a good iPod dock to connect to my Home Theatre system, this is the one dock I found fit my need best. And Amazon’s price was the lowest.

I purchased this dock to allow me to play my itunes music on my home stereo and it is a nice addition to my system. It is sturdy and well built, does what it is supposed to.

You can’t beat this for the price, it works perfectly fine, but can get stuck a little bit sometimes.

The price was right, and the product works. Much cheaper than the Apple version! The only issue I can see is that the cable might not retract properly every time, but that is not an issue for me.

I’ve only had this product a little under a month, but so far I have been happy with this product. It stores nicely, wound up, and works well. I have a laptop and storage is at a premium for me. my laptop is a gateway, and I do not have a firewire port. This product has been the one that makes my iPOD work. If you have to get a USB transfer cable for your iPOD I recommend this product.

Well… I purchased this item to replace RCA-to-eighgth” that I used to have, but had to canabalise.
I’m pleased with this product (and the seller I bought it from who shipped at lightning speed) but mainly because of it’s length, which is a good bit longer than my last one. I use this item soley to transfer songs from my four-track onto my computer. It does the job well.

Not much to review since this product is just a cable. However this product makes connecting your iPod to a compatible Kenwood head unit very easy and gives you full control on the iPod as well as charging. With this cable you can connect your iPod stash it somewhere out of the way and never have to touch it again.

Great cable for standard iPods. Will work with iPhone (I have a 3G), but you get a notification on the iPhone screen that it’s not compatible and suggests that you turn on Airplane Mode. I hit “Cancel” and it still works fine.
